APTA was very pleased to provide a submission into the review of the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan. This plan aims to build the teaching profession by enhancing the reputation of teachers and teaching, encouraging more people to consider teaching as a career, exploring improvements to prepare teachers for the classroom, address important workforce issues and to ensure the right processes are in place to monitor, review and maintain continuous improvement.

Teaching associations reflect the voice of practising teachers who make up the majority of the teaching workforce. We are very well placed to contribute to discussions that impact on teachers across jurisdictions and across Australia. We will continue to advocate strongly in this area.
