Webinar: Changes to Employment Law (for very small businesses)

For the first presentation in our 2024 series presentations aimed to support our members, we are very pleased to have James Sanders, Principal with MST Lawyers, to present on an important governance issue for some of our teaching associations across Australia. While many associations are entirely voluntary, others will have employees (either full time, part time or casual) or contractors engaged to support their work. This webinar is for them!

We invite you to join us to learn more about changes to employment law that now apply to association employees and contractors, regardless of what their contract says. Topics include:

  • What is the definition of a casual employee? A contractor?
  • Who is entitled to family and domestic violence leave, and when?
  • Can employees disclose their pay to others?
  • How long can you employ someone on a series of fixed term contracts before you have to let them go or offer them ongoing employment?

The webinar is scheduled for May 27 2024 at 7:00pm AEST – please check your local time!
